Five suspects arrested for mafia activities in KZN construction sector

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Response Team set up to tackle the activities of the construction mafia recently arrested five suspects for intimidation and disruption of infrastructure in Umsunduzi.

Provincial police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda said: “Police responded to reports of a group of people disrupting activities at a construction site where a bridge is under construction in Umsunduzi.”

Upon arrival at the scene, police arrested the five suspects and charged them with intimidation and disrupting a construction site.

The five suspects, aged between 28 and 44, will appear before Camperdown District Court.
