Johnson City Man Arrested for Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – www.elizabethton.com

JOHNSON CITY — On Aug. 30, detectives with the Johnson City Police Department’s Special Victims Unit arrested Sawyer Cross, 25, of Johnson City and charged him with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

The investigation began after the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline. The JCPD, as part of the Tennessee Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, acted on the information provided.

Investigators from the Special Victims Unit identified Cross as a suspect and he was arrested after a search warrant was executed at his home.

Cross was taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
