PNP spokesman Col. Jean Fajardo shows proof of life sent by Indonesian authorities to their Filipino counterparts in connection with the arrest of the dismissed Bamban and Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now working with the Philippine Embassy in Indonesia to facilitate the transfer of custody of Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, who was arrested on Tuesday, September 3, in Tangerang City.

PNP spokesman Col. Jean Fajardo said Guo is currently under surveillance by Jakarta Interpol.

“Our Chief PNP (Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil) and the SILG (Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Benhur Abalos Jr.) are currently working with the Philippine Ambassador to facilitate the proper transfer of Alice Guo to Philippine custody,” Fajardo said during a press conference at Camp Crame in Quezon City.

“The PNP is now discussing the logistics of Guo’s return to the Philippines, where she faces a Senate arrest warrant,” she added.

According to Fajardo, Guo was collared on Tuesday night at the Sandana Park Residences in Tangerang city, Banten province.

According to Fajardo, the arrest was confirmed around 11:30 p.m. (Jakarta time), with Indonesian authorities providing proof of life to the PNP.

She attributed the arrest to cooperation with the Indonesian National Police, citing a 2017 Memorandum of Understanding on intelligence sharing and joint efforts to combat cross-border crime.

“The PNP expresses its gratitude to the Indonesian National Police for their invaluable cooperation, which led to Guo’s arrest. The PNP Police Attaché in Indonesia is actively coordinating the final arrangements for Guo’s repatriation,” Fajardo said.

“Further details are being withheld in light of ongoing diplomatic protocols and the protection of Guo’s family, who have been notified of her arrest,” she added.
