Man fired from Phoenix police, accused of child sexual exploitation – Theforgegastown

A Phoenix A police officer has been fired and is accused of multiple counts of child sexual exploitation.

On September 3, police confirmed to FOX 10 that Daniel Rojas, a former communications officer, had been fired following an internal and criminal investigation.

The Phoenix Police Department’s investigation began in April of this year, when the department received a tip about “possible criminal activity” by Rojas.

“In May, Rojas was interviewed as part of the criminal investigation and placed on non-active status,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Phil Krynsky.

Then, in July, the Scottsdale Phoenix police say they are also investigating Rojas’ alleged criminal activities.

Documents related to the case show that on June 28, Instagram notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that Rojas had allegedly uploaded child pornography to the platform.

Investigators were able to track down Rojas, a Scottsdale resident, who was arrested by Scottsdale police on August 2.

“Given the seriousness of the allegations, the Phoenix Police Department has terminated Rojas’ employment,” the Phoenix Police Department said. “The Phoenix Police Department takes these allegations seriously and is committed to conducting a thorough and transparent investigation.”

Rojas is accused of six counts of child exploitation.
