Black Widow follows the decades-long police investigation into Dena Thompson. For 20 years, Dena, known as “The Black Widow,” waged a sustained campaign of fraud, deceit, bigamy and murder.

Using her Lonely Hearts columns, she managed to lure a series of husbands and dozens of lovers into her life, using her bizarre but convincing stories to force them to give up their savings, their homes, their families, and their freedom.

Dena was finally caught and convicted of murder in 2003. After 19 years in prison, she has now been released and her victims still struggle to understand what happened to them.

This 3 x 60-inch series features firsthand accounts from the victims, including exclusive access to her first husband, who was left homeless because he thought he was on the run from the mafia.
