ZEE5’s recently released crime series ‘Murshid’ has been noted by viewers and critics for its fresh take on the gangster genre. The series follows Murshid Pathan, a former underworld kingpin from the 90s, played by Kay Kay Menon. As Pathan tries to distance himself from his past, he is pulled back into the dangerous world he was trying to escape when his former associate Farid, played by Zakir Hussain, threatens everything Pathan values.

One of the standout performances in this star-studded cast is Tanuj Virwani, whose popularity has been steadily rising over the last few years. Virwani’s association with the project came about because of his previous collaboration with director Shravan Tiwari. Talking about his role in ‘Murshid’, Tanuj said, “When I got the call from our director Shravan Sir, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I told him, ‘Be it for one scene or one role, I am ready. The opportunity to work with legends like Zakir Sir and Kay Kay Menon sir was just too good to pass up. For me, it’s like going to an acting school myself. Sharing screen space with such incredible talents automatically elevates your game. It’s the kind of experience that pushes you to grow as an actor, and I am grateful for every moment of it.”

The ZEE5 original series ‘Murshid’ is currently streaming on ZEE5.
