Oklahoma City man sentenced to 30 years in prison for distributing child pornography

CITY OF OKLAHOMA (KOKH) — An Oklahoma City resident has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for distributing child pornography.

Matthew Ryan Strobl, 34, was charged on August 16, 2023, with attempted sexual exploitation of a child, attempted transmission of obscene material to a minor, commission of a felony by a registered sex offender, and distribution of child pornography.

According to public records, Strobl has a history of sexually abusing minors, including convictions for second-degree rape and sexual assault.

After his indictment, Strobl’s phone was confiscated, which showed Strobl attempting to obtain explicit photos of another minor via social media.

Strobl pleaded guilty on December 4, 2023, to distributing child pornography.
