Who we are

Mission Technologies is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer who will serve as an expert in all areas of cybersecurity/information security for the project. This includes the operation of all DoD and approved commercial cyber tools used to protect project data and assets. The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the project will manage the day-to-day operations of the cyber suite, generate all required reports to project management, and perform all required DoD activities as directed. Additionally, the ISSO will assist in developing all required RMF IA documentation to achieve/maintain Authority to Operate for all project networks.

What you are going to do

  • Perform daily analysis of Enterprise Security Solutions (ESS) events for all installed modules (including Intrusion Prevention System/Firewall/Data Loss Prevention/Rogue System Detection/Enterprise Virus Scan)
  • Check installed network firewalls and intrusion prevention systems to ensure proper operation and detection of potential security issues
  • Perform management and tuning of host-based firewalls and intrusion prevention systems
  • Install weekly updates for all modules within the ESS suite and for the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
  • Conduct weekly compliance scans for ACAS and provide monthly reports to the ISSM, updating the POAM with the latest information.
  • Work with network administrators to ensure monthly patching is completed, and verify this with ACAS scans and manual audits
  • Conduct quarterly STIG reviews on all project networks and record findings in the applicable POAM, communicating any concerns to the ISSM.
  • Ensure new users sign user agreements and complete required training before receiving accounts
  • Conduct random WiFi/Bluetooth/cellular inspections of areas to ensure compliance with electronic device policies
  • Review audit solutions in each enclave to ensure audit requirements are met and report any findings to the ISSM.
  • Work with training personnel to ensure that all IA-related training requirements are met and that all new requirements are developed, approved, and initialized.

What we are looking for

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; 0 years of experience with a PhD or Doctorate in Law in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
  • Security+ or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • In addition, you must hold the Certified Access Specialist (CASP) CE, or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or GIAC Security Leadership Certificate (GSLC)
  • Proficient in DoD cyber tools (ESS and ACAS) and in auditing, firewalls/IPS and RMF documentation

Physical requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, marine or laboratory environment. Ability to climb ladders and handle confined spaces and extreme temperature changes.
