Position overview

Far Ridgeline Engagements, a US company of QinetiQ, is seeking an Advanced Blue Cyber ​​​​Analyst for Fort Belvioir, VA.

Responsibilities

Inspect data network traffic to identify potential vulnerabilities or exploits by malicious actors. As part of the assessment process, advanced cybersecurity operators will create a copy of the client’s network traffic and then run it through a number of software tools that scan the traffic for indicators of malicious activity or vulnerabilities. The contractor will be able and responsible for:

  • Perform advanced cyber assessment technical planning and execution. Perform planning for assessment operations, including:
    • Connects DTRA’s customers, external stakeholders, assessment site POCs, and technical SMEs to maximize the effectiveness and security of advanced cyber assessments
    • Understands the objectives of the customer assessment and the technical requirements necessary to meet those objectives
    • Designs, coordinates, and maintains assessment-specific network connectivity authorization documents for assigned cyber activities
    • During assessments, you will serve as the primary point of contact between DTRA’s technical SMEs and assessment customers and trusted agents, ensuring that questions or concerns that may arise during an assessment are addressed.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations to the DTRA Cyber ​​Division Chief.
  • Collaborate with DoD leadership, assessment coordinators, and authoritative experts to support the assessments
  • Providing recommendations on the appropriate hardware and software needed to optimize advanced cyber assessments
  • Liaise with technical personnel within DTRA Information Technology commercial suppliers
  • Participate in annual updates of the SOPs by making recommendations to the DTRA Cyber ​​Division Chief

Required qualifications

  • Required TS/SCI #qinetiqclearedjobs
  • Possess the knowledge, skills and ability to operate the advanced cyber analytics toolkit and perform the required assessments
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as computer science or engineering.

In lieu of a diploma, 10 years of directly related operational experience may be substituted as agreed by the government

  • Possess working knowledge of DoD IT systems and network certification and accreditation processes, including system security authorization agreements
  • Experience conducting Information Operations Computer Network Defense/Exploitation assessments
  • Programming experience (Perl, Python, C, etc.)
  • Experience with firewalls and network TAP technologies
  • Have extensive experience in security monitoring, threat hunting, packet analysis, malware analysis, signature development and shell scripting
  • Knowledge of Linux environments (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Install, configure and manage software applications
  • Possess troubleshooting skills for software and hardware issues
  • Configure, manage and maintain network equipment
  • Strong computer networking skills
  • Have a working knowledge of the Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert processes of the Ministry of Defense
  • Have a working knowledge of computer network modeling software
  • Have working knowledge of computer network vulnerability/compliance analysis software
