Yogi Adityanath’s dig at the opposition

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday (September 4) slammed the Opposition, accusing them of providing shelter to mafia, criminals and rioters.

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said this while addressing a large-scale district-level employment and credit fair at Kendriya Vidyalaya on the IFFCO campus in Phulpur, Prayagraj.

During the event, CM Yogi distributed appointment letters to over 5,000 youth and provided loans of over Rs 510 crore to 7,138 beneficiaries.

In his speech, CM Yogi stressed that the opposition had provided protection to criminal elements.

In a veiled attack on SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, CM Yogi said “Tipu”, who dreams of becoming a “Sultan”, bowed to the mafia.

He accused the opposition of turning the mafia into a symbol of pride, leaving Prayagraj in an identity crisis.

Moreover, CM Yogi warned unruly elements and said that anyone who tries to belittle young women on the streets will have their hands and legs broken.

He stressed that it is the government’s duty to ensure the safety of every citizen and that it will do so at all costs.

He added that any mafia that tries to rise up will be razed to the ground, referring to the measures taken by the UP government against criminal elements in the state, including bulldozing their properties.

“It takes guts to drive a bulldozer,” he noted.

He also wondered whether those who bow to the mafia, rioters and criminals would ever have the courage to bulldoze their property.

“They would have a heart attack if they just saw a bulldozer,” he joked.
