The ‘Real Story’ Behind the ‘Downfall’ of a Major Mafia Family Explained

True crime fans have enjoyed watching criminal justice programs such as Law and order and there have been several spin-offs of it for decades, but many may wonder what the real stories are behind the fictional stories they’ve seen on TV.

Launched last month, Law and Order: Criminal Justice System podcast “tells the real stories behind the groundbreaking cases that have shaped the way America’s most dangerous and influential criminals are prosecuted.” The Wolf Entertainment and iHeartPodcasts show, hosted by Anna-Sigga Nicolazzirecently premiered its first season, focusing on the “downfall” of the Mafia in New York. According to the podcast description:

“In the first season, the series takes on the most powerful crime organization in American history, the New York Mafia. Discover how the seemingly random murder of an influential mobster set in motion a chain of events that led to the downfall of the city’s five largest crime families at the height of their power.”
