East End man charged with child pornography

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) has arrested and charged an Ottawa man following a joint investigation with Homeland Security Investigations, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police National Child Exploitation Crime Centre (RCMP NCECC) and the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) that began in 2022.

Yesterday, the ICE unit, with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Section, the Digital Forensics Section and the East Neighbourhood Resource Team, executed an arrest warrant at a residence in Ottawa’s east end, where the man was arrested.

Brent MCMULLEN, 57, of Ottawa, is charged with:

  • Make child pornography
  • Create written child pornography
  • Unlawful possession of child pornography
  • Access to child pornography
  • Sexual interference
  • Telecommunications agreement to commit a specific offence with another person under the age of 18

He appeared in court yesterday.
