The War in the Wardrobe by Wordburglar

FROM THE RAP-VIPER FILES:

“CROSS-STITCH had a promising career in military engineering, designing state-of-the-art combat armor and defense systems for the Army until he was dishonorably discharged for multiple Article 15 uniform violations. It turns out his CO didn’t like neon purple boots.

With dreams of reinventing the military color palette, CROSS-STITCH followed his passion for fashion into designing theater costumes. When THE ENEMY found him, he was a disgruntled Broadway costume designer who had been fired after a mysterious pyrotechnic wardrobe malfunction burned down an entire theater — during a sold-out Saturday afternoon performance.

CROSS-STITCH was blacklisted by the theater world but found work in the New York City underworld. She quickly became notorious for creating elaborate, bulletproof costumes and gang disguises that were as terrifying as they were functional.

CROSS-STITCH possesses the rare ability to design state-of-the-art battle-ready uniforms that can still inspire terror – all with a theatrical flair. This talent brought him to the attention of THE ENEMY COMMANDER, who himself was fond of lavish, theatrical paramilitary garb.

CROSS-STITCH knows the value of theatricality as a form of intimidation in war and has found lucrative and extensive work with THE ENEMY, creating terrifying and extraordinary battledress uniforms for legions of the world’s most vicious terrorists. Finding something they can all agree on is no small feat and something CROSS-STITCH relishes.”
