Exploitation in the cinema: Honey Rose calls for accountability

Malayalam actor Honey Rose has alleged that those responsible for sexual misconduct and exploitation in the film industry should be punished. She stressed that such individuals should face consequences and investigations should be conducted in that direction.

Honey Rose further noted that she has not encountered any form of exploitation while working on her films. She also stated that she was not aware of any issues that occurred on the sets of her films.

The actor made these statements after attending a film event. Honey Rose has set up her own production house, Honey Rose Varghese Productions. On September 5, she celebrated her birthday and discussed her new production venture.

On her Instagram page, Honey Rose shared a post expressing her sense of duty and destiny in taking on a bigger role in the industry.

“A dream, a vision, a venture. Cinema is a dream, a fantasy and an aspiration for many and for me it feels like a blessing to be a part of the industry for almost 20 years. Cinema has played such a huge and beautiful role in my childhood, my life, my learning experiences, my friendships and more that I feel it is my duty and my destiny to play a bigger role in my connection with this industry,” she said.

She added, “On my birthday (and Teachers’ Day), with a heart full of gratitude, I would like to unveil the logo of my new venture, Honey Rose Varghese (HRV) Productions. I have always been humbled by the love I have received from film lovers, who have given me the opportunity to portray some amazing characters. I would like to ask and hope that this support continues. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me on my journey.”

Honey Rose also announced that her production company will offer opportunities to new talent and filmmakers.

Honey Rose has acted in both Malayalam and Telugu films. Her upcoming Malayalam film is Rachel, in which she will be seen playing the title role. Last year, she appeared in Veera Simha Reddy (Telugu), Poker-kaalamAnd Rani: The Real Story.
