Second meeting of OTS interior ministers next year in Azerbaijan

The second meeting of the interior ministers of the Turkic Council member states will take place in Azerbaijan next year,
Azer News defeated.

Today a decision was taken based on the outcomes of the first meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Vilayet Eyvazov, as well as the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

In his speech, the Secretary-General noted that this event would serve as a basis for creating a new and regular platform for cooperation among the Ministers of the Interior, which would contribute to further strengthening unity and cooperation within the Turkic world.

The ministers then discussed the activities of the organisations in the fight against transnational organised crime, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and human trafficking. The parties stressed the importance of cooperation between ministries of internal affairs in the fight against such crimes.

After the meeting, a joint statement was signed and it was decided to hold the second meeting of the interior ministers in Azerbaijan in 2025.
