Niagara County home completely destroyed after Saturday morning fire

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A home in Niagara County has been declared a total loss after a fire early Saturday morning, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Reports of a fire at 8713 Main St. in the Village of Barker came in around 3:25 a.m., deputies said. Crews confirmed an active fire at the residence upon arrival, and the two occupants were able to get out of the home.

One of the occupants, an 18-year-old woman, was taken to Medina Memorial Hospital for treatment with minor injuries.

The fire was eventually extinguished. No estimate of the total damage is available yet.

The residents of the house are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
