Bill Maher lashes out at leftists who attack RFK Jr.’s wife

Left-wing talk show host Bill Maher has sharply criticized fellow Democrats for criticizing Cheryl Hines, the wife of former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Hines has come under heavy criticism from the left in recent weeks after Kennedy dropped his independent candidacy for president and endorsed former President Donald Trump, as Resist the Mainstream previously reported.

Last week, prominent liberal actor Bradley Whitford attacked Hines for remaining silent after her husband endorsed Trump on August 23, Variety reported.

Whitford is known for his roles in films such as “The West Wing” and “Get Out.”

“Hey Cherlyn Hines, what a silence while your insane husband shows his support for the convicted rapist who brags about depriving women of their basic rights,” Whitford said on X.

“Courage. Great example for the kids. Profile in courage,” the actor added.

Maher responded to criticism of Hines by rebuking the political left, the Daily Wire reported.

“His wife is Cherlyn Hines, who Larry David described as ‘the best person I’ve ever met, the only person in Hollywood who doesn’t have a single enemy,'” Maher said.

“Well, she does now, because she didn’t throw her husband under the bus when he made a decision about something she clearly didn’t agree with, but that didn’t please the annoying posers of the aforementioned far-left wing,” he added.

Maher pointed out that Hines received a lot of criticism for not speaking out against her husband’s decision to support Trump.

“Do you want to know why I’m bothered by the left now more than before?” Maher asked.

“It’s s**t like this. There’s an ugliness that they never had before. The liberals I grew up with aren’t like that,” he added. “Going after women? Even the mafia don’t do that.”

“There are a lot of people today who I would call liberals in theory,” Maher continued.

“In theory, they hate bullying, they hate it. In practice, their attitude is, ‘It’s not bullying if I stick your head in the toilet.’ In theory, liberals are sympathetic. In practice, this man can’t even understand one of the most basic dilemmas that all human beings have in common, which is that sometimes you have to swallow a little shit when you’re married,” Maher said, referring to Whitford.

Maher has not been afraid to attack his own party in the past.

On September 2, Maher criticized Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) for spreading falsehoods during their first interview on CNN.

“And when Tim Walz said, ‘The American people… I talk like them.’ No, you don’t. You’re a colossal liar, just like all politicians. I don’t care anyway. I’ve always said this about politicians. They’re all going to lie. They’re politicians,” Maher said.

“I don’t give a fuck what you did in the Iraq war. You were in the (National) Guard… I don’t understand why she wouldn’t… You’re just insulting my intelligence when she says, ‘What did you say when Biden called you and said he wasn’t running?’ ‘Well, I immediately thought of him.’ No, you weren’t. Fracking. Dana Bash had her all over her,” Maher continued.
