I decided on impulse to read Neva Altai’s Perfectly Imperfect series and I’m surprised at how much I love them.

I’m a picky reader and I can’t believe this author made me read an entire series! The last time I read a series with more than 3 books was in 2019 with Psy Changeling by Nalini Singh. Interestingly enough, these books have the same vibe as Nalini’s books, only in a contemporary, real world setting. I’m strictly a sci-fi and maybe a little fantasy romance kind of girl. I don’t really get into contemporary and definitely not mafia or military books. I actually stopped reading romance for a while now.. I’m bored with it all. Then Pinterest suggested “Burned Dreams” by Neva Altai. The synopsis of the book seemed good, but as always with romance books these days my first thought was “man this is going to suck” 😬and I don’t bother looking it up anymore. I don’t know why I decided to read this book. And I was surprised. It actually had a good plot!! And it burns slow.. I wish it was slower but it’s good. There’s smut.. but I don’t find it interesting. It’s repetitive. I just skip it. My favorite is Darkest Sin though and I’m only halfway through lol. The plot is 😚🤌. One of my favorites! I loved this series so much I read the bonus scenes 😭 one of those few book series that I never want to end. I just want a slice of life of everyone just hanging out lol. I’ll admit I actually like the guys from the ZERO military team more than the other characters. They remind me of the Psy in the Nalinis books in particular. Does anyone have any recommendations for books with characters like the Psy in Psy Changeling or the ZERO team in the series above please comment 🙏🙏
