Example: NORMAL PEOPLE by Sally Rooney: yeah i know its not really a romance but a modern day story that revolves around a romantic relationship. Both Mmc and FMC have serious mental issues which leads to poor communication. The love story goes from high school to college. MMC treats FMC badly in high school (pretends he doesn’t know her in public, does nothing when his friend talks bad about FMC)
