Watch The Weeknd Release Playboi Carti In Brazil

The Weeknd performed in São Paulo, Brazil to kick off his new era, inviting rapper Playboi Carti to perform a few songs – check out footage from the performance below.

During The Weeknd’s one-night-only livestreamed concert on September 7, Canadian musician Playboi brought out Carti for three songs, including a cover of Travis Scott’s “Fe!n” and a new collaboration with Carti, “Timeless.”

The new songs, stage design and concert form the start of his new album ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’, which forms the third and final chapter of his ongoing ‘After Hours’ and ‘Dawn FM’ trilogy.

Ahead of the São Paulo concert, The Weeknd also revealed the artwork for ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ on social media. It features a simple close-up of his face, a departure from the facial prosthetics seen in his ‘After Hours’ era. No release date has been confirmed.

A statement about the new album said it “represents the creative culmination of the project and serves as the third and final chapter, crafted with existential and self-referential themes, as seen in the latest visionary teasers that have fans ablaze with anticipation for this concluding installment.”

The final addition to the trilogy will be The Weeknd’s first album since 2022’s ‘Dawn FM’. In a four-star review, NME wrote: “’Dawn FM’ feels like the first steps on a journey for The Weeknd to find peace with himself; perhaps the next time we hear from him, he’ll fully embrace the light of day.”
