  7. VW dropped a bombshell this week: factory closures in Germany are possible. Unions erupted, also because management is considering ending the 30-year job guarantees. VW employed almost 299,000 people in Germany, according to the ’23 annual report. Meanwhile, the German market for new cars is down 27.8% compared to last year (the decline of electric cars is 69%).
