(PRESS RELEASE) THE HAGUE, 9-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — To mark the 125th anniversary of the first Hague Peace Conference, Eurojust will participate in the Just Peace Open Day 2024, an event that brings together peace and justice organisations from across The Hague to engage with the public. The event will take place on 22 September 2024, with Eurojust hosting its activities at the House of Europe, located in the heart of The Hague.

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to interact with prosecutors actively involved in tackling cross-border crime, and gain insight into the vital work Eurojust does to uphold justice across Europe. Attendees will hear first-hand stories, take part in a justice-themed quiz and explore Eurojust’s methods for solving complex legal cases.

Children can also take part in the day’s activities, with a special evidence-gathering challenge designed to introduce them to the world of justice and crime-solving in an engaging and educational way.

In addition to these interactive activities, two major presentations will be offered. Vice-President of Eurojust Boštjan Škrlec will present in English from 10:30 to 11:30 am, while Dutch Liaison Officer Alexander Van Dam will give a presentation in Dutch from 14:30 to 15:30. These sessions provide deeper insights into Eurojust’s international legal work and how it contributes to upholding justice across borders.

While Eurojust’s main building remains closed, the House of Europe will serve as the central hub for Eurojust’s participation in the event. This annual Open Day offers the public an excellent opportunity to learn more about how justice is pursued and achieved on an international scale.

The event is free, but interested participants are encouraged to register in advance for the presentations. More details about registration and the full schedule are available online.
