Anderson Township man charged with possessing and creating child pornography amid extensive investigation

An Anderson Township man, Eric Zachary Johnson, 29, is facing significant legal trouble after being indicted on multiple child pornography charges, as reported by local authorities and multiple news outlets. Johnson has specifically been hit with 30 charges related to creating and possessing disturbing materials involving minors. FOX19 detailed that a tip from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children prompted sheriff’s deputies to execute a search warrant at Johnson’s home on August 27.

As investigators dug deeper into the case, they found more than 140 images from the recovered electronics, including his cell phone, computers, and hard drives. They have been classified as either child pornography or exploitation material. According to Local12, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office estimates that they are only scratching the surface of the more than one million images and videos that have not yet been categorized from these devices. This reveals the disturbing scope of Johnson’s alleged activities. Much of this material is believed to have been shot in Anderson Township parks and neighborhoods.

Johnson’s case has moved forward, with the prosecution laying out the charges in more detail, including 25 counts of offering sexually oriented material to a minor at the level of a fourth-degree felony and five counts at the more serious level of a second-degree felony, as information provided by WLWT outlines. The grim inventory of discovered materials includes not only images and videos, but also screenshots of minors’ Instagram pages, a stark reminder of the intersection of digital voyeurism and child sexual exploitation.
