Self-proclaimed ‘Zoophile’ guilty of animal cruelty for lewd videos involving dog in Piney Point

Sean Patrick Kraese, 24, a self-described “zoophile,” could spend nearly a decade behind bars after his conviction last month, authorities announced.

In June 2022, members of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office received complaints from neighbors about the many dead animals, funeral pyres and bone piles on his Piney Point property that were producing an unpleasant odor.

Prosecutors said detectives executed a search warrant, seized his phone and found several dead animals and bones on the property.

During a search of that phone, investigators found a number of disturbing videos of Kraese with his dog. His online activity indicated that he was “openly participating in the ‘zoophilia’ community by distributing the images to other like-minded individuals.”

He also offered the recipients of his video the opportunity to perform similar acts with his dog.

Kraese was convicted after a trial for:

“Kraese’s actions were not only disturbing, but a gross betrayal of the trust and responsibility we have for animals,” said St. Mary’s County District Attorney Jaymi Sterling.

“The exploitation and abuse of animals for sexual gratification demonstrates a profound moral failure and a complete lack of respect for the dignity of all living beings.”

If convicted next month, Kraese could face up to seven years in prison.
