Hello readers! I am so excited to review the If he takes by Gabrielle Sands for you today. This is the second book in The Fallen God series. The story of Nero and Blake continues in this book from where it left off in As He Desires (Book 1).

Here is a short summary of the book:

First of all: this book cannot be read as a standalone.

Now onto the review. So, Nero and Blake are in New York and Nero realizes that if he wants to get Blake out of this mess he’s gotten her into, he’s going to have to make some big sacrifices. Of course, his love for her trumps the small chance that he’s still alive, but despite that, Nero takes it upon himself to make sure Blake doesn’t get hurt.

The story continues as Nero meets Gino in person and accepts his fate. But what happens next is a shock to not only Nero, but Rafe as well. Blake and Nero’s relationship changes in this book as it goes through a lot of turbulence. Nero has a glimmer of hope, but when Blake makes a pact with Vito, Gino’s wife, behind his back, it becomes clear what she wants. Yes, I’m being cryptic here, but you don’t want me to spoil all the juicy stuff, do you?

The characters are those we know well. The story continues with the author’s fantastic narration and anxious pace. I wanted to keep reading to know how this all ends.

I appreciate how the author ended this story. No loose ends, everyone gets what they deserve, which made this book a wonderful romantic thriller!

I am so in love with the Fallen series that I have them all with me. I keep going back to them because I feel a strong connection to all the characters and their lives. I know I sound like a fangirl, but a fangirl I am! These books never leave my library.

Now that this series has come to an end, I wonder what the author will release next. And I wonder how I am going to sit still waiting for that!
