Middle Township man had more than 1,000 child porn photos, prosecutors say

Anthony Gilbert, 24, has been arrested, Cape May County District Attorney Jeffrey Sutherland said in a news release Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Investigators said Gilbert was identified as someone who downloaded and shared child pornography after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Multiple cellphones and devices were seized in the raid.

Gilbert was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography in the second degree. A second-degree possession charge is for those accused of having more than 1,000 images of child pornography.

Gilbert was being held in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending future court appearances. If found guilty, he faces five to 10 years in prison.
