Cybercrime poses major risk to South-East Europe – raytodd.blog

The Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime has released Risk Bulletin 19, stating that the vulnerability of South-East Europe has been demonstrated by highly damaging cyberattacks allegedly orchestrated by hostile states against the governments of both Albania and Montenegro.

It warned that poor awareness, low investment in basic protection measures, high levels of corruption and unemployment all contribute to vulnerabilities. If these shortcomings are not addressed in a coherent manner at both national and regional levels, the rapid pace of technological innovation risks leaving malign actors beyond the reach of regional law enforcement.
