BJP’s H. Raja criticises DMK Min Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, says children will get spoiled if taught about EVR’s antics

Tamil Nadu BJP coordinator and national executive member H. Raja has slammed the ruling DMK’s recent political moves and accused it of using political stunts like the Mahavishnu speech to woo the minority vote bank at the cost of Hinduism. Addressing the public meeting of Vinayagar Chaturthi Visarjana Festival on September 9, 2024 at Thudiyalur, Coimbatore, organised by the Hindu Munnani, Raja proudly declared that they have made idols of Ganesha in EVR territory. E. V. Ramasamy Naicker (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his followers) was an anti-Hindu fanatic who, along with cadres, went on the rampage and destroyed the idols of Vinayagar.

Raja began his speech by highlighting that 150 of the 251 Ganesha idols meant for the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival had not arrived. He alleged that these idols were blocked from reaching the festival due to the DMK government’s anti-Hindu policies. Raja also accused senior police officials of complicity in this obstruction, and suggested that they were rewarded for their actions in their CR reports.

Raja condemned the Tamil Nadu government as anti-Hindu and pointed out that they have installed Ganesha idols even in Periyar’s stronghold. He stated, “They already claim this (land) as Periyar’s land, and so it is, and from this land we have made idols.”

Raja then went on to revisit historical events surrounding the DMK and its ideologue, EV Ramasamy, also known as Periyar. He criticised the party on the basis of facts and stressed that the party was anti-national, self-doubting and ignorant.

Raja stated:“EVR was an English imperial Christian mercenary. I am not speaking without proof. Do you know what resolution was passed by the Dravidar Kazhagham headed by EVR and later passed by Annadurai at Salem in 1944? ‘Gandhi said that the English should leave, but Gandhi has gone mad. To cure his madness, a good doctor should be brought from England. If the white man leaves, science will leave.’ See how insecure the DK and DMK are, but we will call them scholars and Periyar. Therefore, the white man should not leave the country. ‘If the white man leaves, science will leave. Cars and buses will not run, there will be no telegraph or postal services and we will not be able to produce even a pin.’ Whose resolution is this? It is by EVR and Annadurai. On the other hand, our Vajpayee made an atomic bomb and demonstrated it. The first conference of the Dravida Kazhagam is proof of how far these people talk about rationality and how ignorant they are.”

He further noted that the DK and DMK, which once passed resolutions advocating the end of British rule in England and wanted to influence at least Chennai, are now the ones ruling the state. He warned that such anti-national forces are unlikely to support the preservation of our nationalism and culture.

He also criticised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for not taking action against Minister TM Anbarasan, who had made threatening remarks about the Prime Minister, and wondered why the minister had not been arrested or removed from his post.

He further criticised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for not taking action against Minister TM Anbarasan, who had made threatening remarks “tearing the Prime Minister to pieces.” He wondered why Anbarasan was not arrested or removed from his post. Did he accept his remark?

Raja then spoke about spiritual motivational speaker Mahavishnu, and criticized the action taken against him. He noted that Mahavishnu had discussed the teachings of Tamil saints like Thirumoolar and Thiruvalluvar. However, he wondered if the Education Minister had shown similar determination in tackling the sexual exploitation of students at a government-aided minority school by a mother-son duo in his own constituency. Raja mocked the minister, saying that when he saw the name Samson Daniel, he became submissive and acted humble. Raja pointed out that the minister’s actions differed because Mahavishnu is a Hindu and Samson Daniel is a Christian.

He then criticised the present Tamil Nadu government for not taking action against minorities even when they commit crimes while looking the other way. He wondered why there is an objection when someone talks about Thirumoolar and Thiruvalluvar.

Raja then concluded his speech by presenting simple facts about EV Ramasamy (EVR) and Karunanidhi. He wondered whether such cultural degradation should be taught to school children.

Raja asked: “What did EVR say about women?” and continued: “Women should not wear sarees; they should wear lungis. These are not my words; they are EVR’s words. ‘They should not have long hair, they should cut it short and wear T-shirts. ‘How do we go to our favourite shop and eat our favourite snack? In the same way, women should have sex with their favourite man,’ who said all this? EVR said it. So women should remove their womb.”

He continued: “All this is described in detail in EVR’s writings. If we teach these ideas to school children, won’t it ruin their lives?”

Raja then asked, “Can we record classes on Karunanidhi?” and added: “Kannadasan has written in the book Vanavasam. It’s very disgusting when we talk about it on stage.”

Raja asked: “Why are lessons taught in school textbooks about culturally degraded individuals, while spiritual discussions in schools provoke criticism? He noted that despite the long-standing bans on our festivals and the recent bans against Hindu ideology, Samson Daniel has not been scrutinized in the same manner over the years.
