Panama City man charged with sexually abusing minor

PANAMA CITY, FL. (WMBB) – A Panama City man has been arrested after sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl.

BCSO officials arrested 57-year-old Gregory Alan Scott, who is charged with a felony.

According to an arrest affidavit, the incident is believed to have occurred in January 2022.

Investigators said the victim had cognitive delays. She told a teacher she felt embarrassed when she showed her skin and other parts of her body to Scott, investigators said.

When the first interview with detectives took place in December 2022, the victim said she didn’t want to talk about it.

However, during an additional interrogation in March 2023, the victim allegedly said that Scott had done “something bad” and that intimate parts were involved.

The victim was also interviewed last Monday, when she allegedly told authorities that Scott had sexually assaulted her on two separate occasions, authorities wrote.

The Child Exploitation Team was also involved in this investigation and their findings did indeed point to sexual exploitation.

Scott was charged with aggravated assault on a victim under the age of 12 and indecent or lascivious sexual assault.

Scott was taken to the Bay County Jail and held on $2,500,000 bail.
