Nevada man paid woman to rape her underage daughter for years, police say

A Nevada man allegedly paid a woman to rape her underage daughter for five years, police said.

The 38-year-old Provo, Utah, woman was arrested on September 4 on 76 felony counts related to the alleged sexual abuse of her 10-year-old daughter. Provo police had received a tip that she was uploading videos and images of the abuse to a messaging app.

“She wanted positive attention from someone who wouldn’t bully her.”

Police identified the woman and served a search warrant, which revealed she had sent sexually explicit videos of herself and her daughter to 52-year-old Chris Alan Seamann of Mesquite, Nevada.

A police report found that the woman had been sending Seamann photos and videos for years because she wanted “positive attention from someone who wasn’t bullying her.”

She allegedly admitted to meeting Seamann ten times over the past five or six years so he could sexually abuse her daughter, and to paying for “gifts and treats” for the victim.

She also reportedly told police she was “afraid for her safety if she did not comply” with Seamann’s commands.

According to police, 41 transactions took place between Seamann and the mother. Police did not want to release the mother’s identity to protect the identity of the minor victim.

The woman was arrested in connection with an investigation into 42 counts of human trafficking of a child, 30 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of sodomy of a child and two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

Seamann was charged with first-degree sodomy of a child and rape of a child, three counts of sexual abuse of a child and lewdness with a child.

Police said he was arrested in Mesquite and was being extradited to Utah to face the charges. They also said he was already a registered sex offender.
