POLICE does not rule out that the 402 children suspected of being victims of exploitation who were recently rescued during raids on 20 charity homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan are children of members of an organisation under GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH).

Utusan Malaysia According to police inspector general Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, all the children were found in suspected unregistered shelters, similar to the process their parents went through when they were part of an organisation previously banned by the National Fatwa Council.

“For now, these children are under our supervision with the help of other agencies including the Social Welfare Department (JKM) and the Health Ministry of Malaysia,” he said, as quoted by Utusan.

Furthermore, the IGP added that children between the ages of six and 17, who should have been in school, were not being sent to school but were being exposed to certain religious teachings in madrassas that were not registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE).

He indicated that the documentation process would take seven to 12 days to carefully check their backgrounds.

“Give us time to complete this process and determine who their parents are, their health condition and all these factors need to be assessed before any further action is taken.

“For now, these children are under our supervision with the help of other agencies including the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) and the Ministry of Health (MOH),” he said.

Razarudin added that the investigation will soon include the questioning and recording of statements of top management, including the director of GISB.

Meanwhile, GISBH denied allegations that its charities were involved in teaching unnatural sex acts to the children in its care, as circulated on social media.

The company stated that these allegations are serious and are intended to create suspicion, defamation and malice and thus create a negative image of GISBH.

Police recently raided 20 charities, 18 in Selangor and two in Negeri Sembilan, on suspicion of neglect, abuse, sexual exploitation and molestation of children aged one to 17.

This followed police reports of these allegations in Port Dickson and similar reports made at other locations on September 2.

The alleged modus operandi in these buildings was to teach and train victims in sodomy, after which the victims were sodomized by the caretaker and forced to abuse other underage residents. TMR
