Beware of fraud calls from FedEx, BSNL and TRAI!

Hyderabad, September 13 (NSS): A 39-year-old female private employee received a direct call from 9271224083. The fraudster informed the victim that her parcel, which was going from Mumbai to Taiwan, had been seized in Mumbai. The parcel allegedly contained five passports, five debit cards, 4.2 kg of clothes, one laptop, USD 5,000 in cash and 200 grams of MDMA. The fraudster gave the victim a tracking ID for the parcel: 228932129695.

The fraudster asked the victim to stay online; otherwise they threatened to arrest her. They claimed that a criminal case related to money laundering and drug mafia was registered against her by the Narcotics Department. The fraudster asked the victim how many bank accounts she had and inquired about the balance in her account. Unfortunately, the victim admitted that there was Rs 2,17,000 in her account. Later, when the victim realized that she had been scammed, she filed an online complaint seeking help.

Public Warning: If a call raises suspicions, individuals should end the call immediately without proceeding further and report any fears to the police station. Beware of fraud calls from FedEx, BSNL and TRAI. Fraudsters may use psychological tactics to manipulate emotions and decision-making.

Law enforcement officials do not initiate contact through Skype calls and insist on money transfer to resolve the issues. Do not believe them and do not transfer money. Do not deposit money in unknown bank accounts under the impression that false promises have been made by unknown persons.
