After Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a terrifying injury that led to his third concussion since 2022, “Bills Mafia” donated to the quarterback’s charity.

The Tua Foundation announced that the charity has received more than $16,000 in donations since the Thursday Night Football scare, Good Morning Football reports.

In Thursday’s Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills, Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in the third quarter of the game. Tagovailoa was running toward the end zone in an attempt to secure a first down, but slammed head-first into the chest of Bills safety Damar Hamlin. Players immediately dropped to a knee as a result of the frightening incident, indicating the seriousness of the situation.

Bills fans donated to the Miami quarterback’s charity in December 2022 after Tagovailoa suffered the second concussion of his career.

The “Bills Mafia” also donated to the charity of Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb after he suffered a knee injury in 2023 that cost him the entire season. Additionally, the Buffalo fan base raised over $400,000 for Andy Dalton’s foundation in 2017 after he led the Bills to the playoffs as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Tagovailoa is the latest NFL player to receive a generous donation from the “Bills Mafia.”

Buffalo’s 31-10 victory over the Dolphins is a minor detail given Miami’s current situation.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel provided the latest on Tagovailoa.

“First of all, I’m not looking at the injury through the lens of, ‘OK, what does this mean for him if he plays?'” McDaniel said. “I actually know that it’s important to me that he gets healthy every day, and the best thing I can do is not try to judge what this means from a football standpoint at all.”

“I don’t see how (Tua) would play in the next game,” McDaniel continued. “I don’t see it — but who am I to know or judge? … But again, I have no idea and I’m not going to make any decisions. I don’t even see myself being involved in the most important part of (making that decision).”

The Week 2 incident was a major setback for the Dolphins. Tagovailoa is at a crossroads in his career. He can either keep playing and risk another concussion, or he can hang up his jersey.
