An eye for film: NewFest 2024

Opening this year with the romantic comedy A Nice Indian Boy, New York’s leading LGBTQ+ film festival features over 140 films from 31 countries, screening in theaters across Manhattan and Brooklyn. It includes 25 premiere narrative features, 14 documentary features, nine legacy retrospective features, and more.

55% of the films are directed by female, non-binary, trans, or two-spirit filmmakers, while 66% are directed by people of color. 82% of the lineup is by and about historically underrepresented voices and identities within the LGBTQIA+ community.

The festival lasts from October 10 to 22.
