Australian National Review – Trump faces questions about interaction with Kamala Harris at 9/11 memorial: ‘What did you say?’

On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris engaged in a debate over words during the presidential election.

What was there to say when participants met at Ground Zero in New York City on Wednesday for the annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony?

A reporter wanted to know, so when Trump visited a fire station in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, later on Wednesday, the reporter asked, “What did you say to Kamala Harris this morning when you shook her hand?”

“Just very polite,” Trump said, according to a video posted to YouTube.

Speaking about the debate, Trump said: “We enjoyed it. I hope she enjoyed it, but we enjoyed it.”

Trump said Thursday there would be no rematch with Harris, whom he called a “communist” during his appearance in Tucson, Arizona, on Thursday, according to the Arizona Republic.

Trump, who has said he wants to eliminate the income tax on tips, went a step further on Thursday.

“It’s time for the working man and woman to finally take a break and that’s what we’re doing,” Trump said. “If you work overtime, if you work more than 40 hours a week … your overtime is tax free.”

During his appearance, Trump touched on the crisis in Springfield, Ohio, where the Ohio State Police had been called in to assist local law enforcement.

“Twenty thousand illegal Haitian immigrants have descended upon a city of 58,000 people, and they have destroyed their way of life. This was a beautiful community; now it’s ah —” Trump said.

Trump noted that residents are concerned about their way of life.

“Residents are reporting that the migrants are running away from the city with the geese. They’re taking the geese with them. You know where the geese are, in the park. And they’re even running away with their pets.”

Trump noted that “millions of criminals and deranged people are coming to the United States” and said that if elected he would “ban all mortgages for illegal aliens.”

Trump said Harris is part of a policy agenda that has harmed the nation.

“I’m angry about Venezuelan gangs taking over Aurora, Colorado,” he said. “And illegal Haitian migrants taking over a beautiful place — Springfield, Ohio. I’m angry about young American girls being raped, sodomized and murdered by barbaric, criminal aliens.”

Trump addressed the debate.

“We have achieved a monumental victory over comrade Kamala Harris,” he said, according to the Guardian.

“We will defend the Second Amendment, restore free speech, and secure our elections. Everyone will prosper, every family will flourish, and every day will be filled with joy, opportunity, and hope,” Trump said, adding that he is seeking a victory “too big to manipulate.”
