Greek police concerned about Turkish mafia activities

The Greek police (ELAS) have drawn up a confidential report on the activities of Turkish criminal syndicates in Greece. According to excerpts published in KatherineMembers of these organized crime groups have applied for asylum claiming links to terrorist groups such as the PKK or FETO after fleeing to Greece.

The report shows that these individuals often live in central Athens or in the suburbs, rent houses through platforms such as Airbnb, use luxury vehicles and share photos on social media.

There are warnings that Turkish criminal gangs pose a growing threat to Greece, with concerns that the country could become a battleground for mafia wars.

In recent months, members of the Baygaralar gang have been arrested through joint efforts by Turkish and Greek authorities. In addition, two gang members were shot in Piraeus in June, and six members of the Daltonlar gang were executed in a car near Athens last year.
