1. Dunwoody High student exceeds Narcan collection goal

💵 Dunwoody High School junior Mady Cohen not only reached her goal, but doubled it in an effort to raise $5,000 to make Narcan, an opioid-countermeasuring medication, available in every classroom at the school.

Cohen reported that more than $11,000 has been raised so far, which not only exceeds the original goal but will also help expand drug education for students, teachers and parents.

“It felt so great to go into classrooms and give it (Narcan supply) directly to teachers,” she said. “We started conversations for an educational piece for students, teachers and parents about the dangers of opioid addiction and overdose prevention.”
