UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili celebrates UFC 306 victory on the Las Vegas Strip

MMA fighter and bantamweight world champion Merab Dvalishvili traveled to the Las Vegas Strip to celebrate his big win at the Sphere tournament last weekend.

The UFC champion arrived at the XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas just hours after winning the iconic belt, where he was greeted with an over-the-top welcome that included light-up LED canopies overhead, massive photos of the fighter, giant letters spelling out “Merab,” confetti flying through the air, an LED drumline and more.

He later joined the award-winning trio Swedish House Mafia in the DJ booth, where he jumped onto the stage with the belt and whipped up the crowd with dancing.

This comes after Sean O’Malley won a unanimous decision at UFC 306, a groundbreaking event that was billed as ‘Noche UFC’ in honor of Mexican Independence Day. It was also the first UFC event to be held at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Before the main event, MMA fighter Valentina Shevchenko won the women’s flyweight championship after defeating Alexa Grasso in the co-main event.

In total,seven mexican fightersincluding Grasso, populated the map, and the crowd shouted “Mexico” several times.

A separate celebration of Mexican Independence Day was held at the T-Mobile ArenaCinnamon Alvarez defended his title against Edgar Berlanga and won by unanimous decision.
