Bestselling author, columnist, screenwriter, and writing instructor James Fouche has published two crime novels, which are currently being considered as production possibilities. His third novel was part of a working thesis for his Masters in Creative Writing, and his long-awaited fourth novel has been edited and is currently awaiting a good publishing and distribution deal.

During COVID lockdowns, James created and wrote a crime drama TV series, then filmed a proof-of-concept video to pitch the project to networks. The proof-of-concept video received special selection status at five festivals.

An unassuming protagonist, known only as Gray, works as a financial advisor and lives a simple life. His numbed awareness of the surrounding crime in his environment is suddenly awakened by the death of his brother when they are caught in the crossfire of a gang war. This awakening is then brought into sharp focus by the subsequent deaths of his mother, who dies of a heart attack, his sister-in-law, who decides to commit suicide when her grief becomes unbearable, and his wife, who dies in an accident. Gray holds two warring criminal gang leaders jointly responsible for their deaths and his grief. His resolve to avenge his family is further fueled by the discovery that he has terminal brain tumors.
