Police charge man with multiple firearms offenses and murder

The Anti-Gun and Gangs Unit of the Barbados Police Service has arrested 26-year-old Jahlanny Tremaine Yarde of Silver Hill Drive, Christ Church, and charged him with several serious offences including unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and assault.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on August 30, when Yarde was found in unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

According to police, Yarde allegedly attacked Rico Clarke that same day.

In addition to these charges, the Criminal Investigations Division also linked Yarde to other violent crimes earlier this year.

Yarde has been charged with endangering the life of Jonathan Griffith, robbing Kaliyah Kirton, unlawfully discharging a firearm and brandishing a firearm – all on March 26, 2024.

In addition, Yarde is charged alongside Tynone Alex Searles with the murder of Zakhir Goodridge, which occurred on June 12, 2024.

Yarde is due to appear before Judge Deidre McKenna at Oistins District Court today, Monday September 16, where he will face the charges.
