Microsoft continues to lose ground on its own turf as Xbox Game Pass loses another 6 titles this weekend, including fan favorites

Xbox Game Pass has always been a treat for all fans of this highly anticipated console company. This subscription service is a great way to enjoy the latest AAA titles and classic games without actually owning them. Moreover, this subscription service also allows you to enjoy the multiplayer aspects of the games.

Xbox has a huge library with tons of game titles. So it’s impossible to process all the titles in the Gam Pass catalog at once. That’s why yesterday, like in previous months, several titles left the subscription service, which will hurt fans a lot.

6 titles have disappeared from Xbox Game Pass

After a disappointing August that saw a total of seven titles leave and only six new ones join, September could be about to repeat the same. Yesterday, on September 15th, that meant a total of six titles left the Game Pass catalog. The sad part is that four of those six titles are day one releases. The six titles are:

  • Axis of the Singularity: Escalation
  • FIFA23
  • Payday 3
  • Slime Rancher 2
  • SpiderHeck
  • You are bad at parking

Under these titles, Axis of the Singularity: Escalation, Slime Rancher 2, SpiderHeckAnd You are bad at parking were added in September 2022. While FIFA23 And Payday 3 were added in May 2023 and September 2023, respectively. Many games on this list have therefore been in the catalog for a year or two.

Microsoft typically removes games from the XGP catalog every two weeks. For example, on the last day of last month, the company removed three highly popular titles from its subscription service: NBA 2K24, Atomic HeartAnd Guilty Gear QuestThe consecutive departures of two of the most iconic sports simulation franchises is undoubtedly a huge blow to fans.

In early September, Xbox announced the first batch of games coming to the Gam Pass catalog. Unlike the previous two months, there will be no Activision title this month.

September’s additions are aimed primarily at sim game fans and real-time strategy nerds. Here are the announced titles:

  • Star Trucker (Cloud, Console and PC) – September 3
  • Age of Mythology: Retold (Cloud, PC and Xbox Series X|S) – September 4
  • Expeditions: A MudRunner Game (Cloud, Console and PC) – September 5
  • Riders Republic (Cloud, Console and PC) – September 11
  • Train Sim World 5 (Cloud, Console and PC) – September 17

In addition to new games, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also get a host of bonus benefits, including cosmetics for live-service games, expansions to existing titles, and more. This month, subscribers can enjoy the following perks:

  • 10% discount Dead by Daylight: Castlevania (DLC file)
  • Ark: Survival Ascended Aberration free
  • Predecessor: Ready for action Bundle
  • Metabal: Police package
  • EA Sports NHL 24: Starter Pack
  • MultiVersus: MVP Pack 2

The departure of those six titles will hurt Xbox fans a lot, as most of them were very popular and fan favorites. However, Xbox tried to compensate for the loss with four new titles and some unique benefits for Ultimate subscribers.
