Spartanburg, SC (WOLO) — A nearly month-long investigation by the Spartanburg Special Victims Unit has landed one man in jail on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor. According to authorities, the mother of a male minor told police that the man had hired the young man to do some yard work at his home. After the minor was done, police invited the suspect, 65-year-old Timothy Curtis Goode, into his home, where he repeatedly asked the boy to expose himself and grabbed the victim’s genitals, according to authorities.

According to officers, the young man told them he felt cornered and was not allowed to leave the home until he responded to the call. According to authorities, Goode took pictures of the boy as he exposed himself, offered him snacks and then drove him home.

After receiving a detailed statement from the victim, authorities say they were able to corroborate some of the juvenile’s story in order to obtain a search warrant for Goode’s cell phone. When they obtained that phone, officials say they found explicit photos of the juvenile. Goode was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor – first degree and another four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor – third degree, as well as one count of criminal solicitation of a minor.

A magistrate judge has postponed a bail hearing for Goode until a district court judge. Authorities say they believe there may be additional juvenile victims and are asking anyone with information to contact Investigator Michael Hatch of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at (864) 503-4509.

Goode remains in prison.
