Comment: More than just millions of people

by Michael A. Letts

It’s not just millions of unchecked illegal aliens — the left likes to call them “migrants” and “refugees,” to give this dangerous flood a better name — who have crossed the unchecked southern border in the three and a half years since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took over the federal government.

It is also likely that millions of dollars worth of military-grade weaponry — particularly small arms — has flowed across the border, along with millions of unchecked illegal aliens, some of whom are among the most violent criminals ever to threaten the peace and security of Americans — and American law enforcement.

Is any military equipment from this mission from the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan?

Just a few days ago, reports emerged about gangs of “migrants” and “refugees” who appear to belong to the Venezuelan gang Aragua trail stormed an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, armed with what appeared to be military-style assault rifles.

And not just in Colorado.

A hotel in El Paso, Texas, was shut down by police after it was taken over by . . . Aragua trail gangsters. “The complaint was accompanied by surveillance footage that appeared to show ‘at least one gun being fired, another used to make threats, men with knives, and another man with an axe attacking people and causing damage to the hotel in front of a security guard.’”

Interestingly, the hotel is apparently owned by a South Korean immigrant, according to El Paso County District Attorney Christina Sanchez.

InsightCrime notes that “investigations by Colombian police and prosecutors” into Tren de Aragua’s activities “showed that the group planned to pick up three tons of marijuana that they intended to smuggle across the border into Venezuela. Police also seized several weapons, grenades and an armored vehicleand 10 kilograms of marijuana at the time of the arrest.” (Italics added.)

An estimated 330,000 Venezuelans entered the country last year alone. How many of them are Aragua trail It is literally impossible to determine whether they are gangsters or common criminals, because it is necessary to know who exactly these ‘migrants’ are and what their history is.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have deliberately closed their eyes to this.

Interim Aurora, CO, Police Chief Heather Morris said after the apartment attack that she “just stopped by here at 12th and Dallas and we have a number of our officers here tonight. Again, I’ve been here for a number of weeks now, reaching out to our residents, reassuring them of the criminal activity that’s happening here and how we’re going to address it. We’re here, we want to reassure the people who live in this community that we’re actively investigating any criminal activity that’s happening and listening to them so that we can learn anything that we’re missing.”

That’s all well and good, but it doesn’t directly address the underlying problem: how packs of Venezuelan criminals came to overrun apartment complexes in Colorado, Texas, and New York City.

It’s a shame that President Trump didn’t call Harris out on this, since she is directly responsible for this. She was immediately tasked by Joe Biden to be the administration’s “border czar,” with the implication that it was her job to get the border under control.

The thing is, it was under control — before Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took control of the federal government. Gangs of Venezuelan thugs weren’t wolf-packing apartment complexes in Colorado or anywhere else in America when Donald Trump was president. And it’s unlikely that millions — billions dollars worth of military equipment left for the taking in Afghanistan.

No one can say for sure what happened to all that equipment — and weapons. But how likely is it that some of it was sold to whoever had the money to pay for it? Aragua trail has had enough of this, because this gang is one of the largest dealers in illegal, deadly and highly profitable drugs.

But the main product this gang specializes in is moving people.

An article in The economist explains how Aragua trail profits from the misery of the poverty-stricken people it traffics, including through sex trafficking. This revenue stream can be just as lucrative as that of the drug trade.

But it’s only lucrative if it works — and even better, if it’s made possible by people like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

At least Biden has the possible excuse that he doesn’t know what’s been happening at the southern border for the past three-almost-four years. But Kamala Harris certainly knows — even though she’s spent much of those three-almost-four years avoiding the border, where she might have been seen, photographed, and asked about what’s happening at the border by Americans who are dealing with (and paying for) its consequences.

Now she has the audacity to pretend to agree with President Trump that the border must be controlled and that there is a problem with the millions of uncontrolled foreigners flooding into the country, and the possibility of millions of dollars worth of military equipment being left behind in Afghanistan, ready for the taking.

Of course, she’s only pretending — just long enough to fool enough people into voting for her. When she no longer needs their support, she’ll almost certainly do what she’s been doing for the past four years to control the border.

That’s nothing at all.
