The Violent Gang That’s Rioting Across America – DNyuz

Recently, a new and disturbing threat has emerged on the streets of major American cities.

Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang whose reach and ruthlessness seem almost mythical, is currently terrorizing Americans in cities like Dallas, New York, and Aurora, Colorado.

Tren de Aragua has brought the horrors of one of the world’s most dysfunctional states to the supposed superpower to the north.

The true horror of Tren de Aragua, however, lies not only in its current criminal activities, but also in its origins.

Beginning of prison

Tren de Aragua (Spanish for “Aragua Train”) was born in Tocorón Prison in the Aragua region of Venezuela. The gang may take its name from a local union of railroad workers.

Like most prison gangs, Tren de Aragua was born out of a need for self-preservation. Over time, the gang’s influence expanded as it grew, using prison connections to gain power and developing more structured internal hierarchies. A series of violent clashes with rival gangs secured Tren de Aragua’s dominance, setting the stage for its future criminal empire.

The hunger for power, blood and territory grew ever greater.

After Tren de Aragua consolidated its presence within the Venezuelan prison system, its leaders began to strategize for broader reach, forging alliances with other criminal organizations and corrupt officials to secure and expand their operations.

Initially involved in extortion and local drug distribution, the gang’s operations soon expanded to other industries and countries, establishing operations in Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, and beyond. With this new international influence, the gang diversified into human trafficking and arms smuggling, continually adapting their methods to evade law enforcement and consolidate their control over new regions.

Crossing the border

By the mid-2010s, Tren de Aragua had evolved from a local threat to a formidable transnational criminal organization. Its operations extended beyond South America, into Central America and the Caribbean. The gang’s operations became increasingly sophisticated, with targeted killings and extensive drug production and distribution networks spanning multiple countries.

This phenomenal growth was accompanied by an increase in violence and intimidation, which were used ruthlessly to advance the gang’s interests.

By moving resources and personnel across borders with relative ease, they were able to dominate one local criminal market after another, achieving a reach never before achieved by a Venezuelan gang.

Eventually this spread to the United States, where the gang now appears to operate with impunity.

In fact, Venezuelan immigrants in Florida and other states who fled their homeland are witnessing the criminal activities they worked so hard to escape. Tren de Aragua has brought the horrors of one of the world’s most dysfunctional states to the supposed superpower to the north.

America as a ‘hunting ground’

While Tren de Aragua poses a significant and terrifying threat in its own right, it is far from the only dangerous gang operating in the United States. In fact, according to the FBI, there are an additional 32,999 violent street, motorcycle, and prison gangs operating in the country.

One of the most well-known is MS-13, a notorious organization that casts a long, dark shadow over American cities. MS-13, less commonly known as Mara Salvatrucha, emerged in the 1980s among Salvadoran immigrants in Los Angeles. Since then, it has grown into one of the most feared gangs in America, with a reputation for extreme violence and sadistic levels of brutality.

In recent years, Washington, DC, has seen a dramatic increase in gang-related violence, with MS-13 playing a major role. The city has been described, disturbingly, as a “hunting ground” for the gang, reflecting the pervasive and violent nature of its activities. In Texas, its members have been known to kidnap, drug, and rape young girls.

Time to choose

As the United States approaches one of the most important elections in its founding, the safety and security of every American is on the ballot. The relentless rise of gangs like Tren de Aragua and MS-13 underscores that national security is not just a political slogan — it is an essential duty of government and a fundamental right of every law-abiding citizen.

Voters concerned about this rising, imported crime will have to decide in November which party has the determination and capacity to tackle these existential threats.

The choice seems clear: support those who emphasize strong border security and the protection of American lives or those who downplay and ignore such concerns. Only one party has shown the commitment and willingness to confront this deepening crisis — and it is not the party of Kamala Harris.
