Won't succumb to land mafia, no stopping of HYDRAA work: Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said on Tuesday the land mafia tried to project HYDRAA in a bad light by claiming that the demolitions of illegal buildings are targeting the poor. Such tactics will not deter the government from protecting and preserving the city, the CM said after hoisting the national flag as part of ‘Telangana Praja Palana Dinotsavam’ (People’s Governance Day) at Public Gardens.
Asserting that there was no political or personal interest behind the demolition of HYDRAA, the CM said it was a kind of penance to save Hyderabad’s environment for future generations and revive the lake city, which has turned into a flood city over the last 10 years due to ‘misgovernance’. Referring to the lives lost in Kerala due to floods, the CM said no one wanted such a situation in Hyderabad.
Telangana is projected as a future state. So it should also be promoted as a clean state, he added.
“As I said before, besides economic and cultural renaissance, environmental resuscitation is also the need of the hour. For this reason, the government has created HYDRAA. I appeal to the people to work together and support the government in this endeavor,” he said.
The CM said September 17 is the most important day in the history of Telangana, though there are differing views on the definition of the day. In an indirect dig at the BJP for celebrating September 17 as Liberation Day, the CM said history will not forgive those who try to give the solemn occasion a different colour.
The actress said that she had also called up industry bigwigs at the time and complained to them. “I was silently ignored. I want the industry bigwigs to question director Trivikram,” she demanded.
In another post, the actress also made a comment about National Award-winning choreographer Jani Master, who was recently booked for allegedly raping a 21-year-old colleague.
“The accused ‘Shaik Jani’ should no longer be called a master. Have some respect for the word ‘master’,” she said in her post.
Hailing from Hyderabad, the actress made her debut in Telugu films in 2006 and has acted in around 30 films so far. She is associated with the Congress, participated in Bharat Jodo Yatra along with Rahul Gandhi and is an ardent fan of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Trivikram, against whom the actress has filed a complaint, started his career as a writer in the film industry and went on to direct several blockbusters starring big names. His films Guntur Kaaram,
Ala Vaikunthapurramloo, Attarintiki Daaredi and Manmadhudu were runaway hits. In 2000, he wrote the dialogues for Nuvve Kavali, which won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu.
