Hamilton man charged in child sex abuse case – Trentonian

A Hamilton man has been arrested following an investigation into online child exploitation, Mercer County Acting District Attorney Theresa L. Hilton announced Tuesday.

Don-Diego Parkman, 19, of Hamilton, is charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual battery, production of child abuse material (CSAM), possession of CSAM and endangering the welfare of a child. The District Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to have Parkman held pending trial.

The investigation began when detectives with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit and the New Jersey State Police ICAC Task Force received information from Missouri law enforcement. The report indicated that a minor in Missouri was exchanging child abuse material with Parkman.

Investigators found that Parkman exchanged messages and photos with a pre-pubescent girl and directed her to create and send sexual content.

Authorities executed a search warrant at Parkman’s Hamilton home and seized evidence. Parkman was arrested without incident.

The investigation found that Parkman has worked as a costume character and mascot over the past year for companies including Six Flags Great Adventure, Somerset Baseball Partners, Devils Arena Entertainment and Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

The charges could carry sentences ranging from three to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $200,000.

Acting District Attorney Hilton urges anyone with information about suspected inappropriate contact by unknown persons communicating with children over the Internet or possible exploitation or sexual abuse of children to contact the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit at (609) 989-6568 or the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force tip line at (888) 648-6007.
