How to make a cheap spaceship kit?

Hello!

This is the 3rd official short film I am making with my company and it will be a horrible comedy about a mafia in space. For this we want to use the interior of a spaceship as a setting and we want to emphasize that it looks super cheap, but still good enough not to look cheap by accident.

We will probably have a budget of around 1000-2000 dollars to build this spaceship, but since we are just starting out, we want to make it as cheap as possible. If anyone has any tips on how to build this spaceship as cheap as possible, please comment.
