Summerville man arrested on multiple charges of sexual exploitation of minor

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of a Summerville man on multiple charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Christopher Michael McCoy, 45, of Summerville was arrested on 13 charges related to McCoy distributing and possessing files containing child sexual abuse material, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said.

According to officials, McCoy was arrested on September 16 by detectives with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

McCoy is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree and eleven counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree.

The Public Prosecution Service will prosecute the case, officials said.
