My Hero Academia: You’re Next releases its English dub in a new trailer: Watch

My Hero Academia: You’re Next is the next installment in the superhero shonen series that is already in theaters in Japan and is planning to do the same in North America next month. For the fourth installment in the franchise, Deku and Class 1-A won’t be taking on All For One, Shigaraki, Nine, or the Humanize cult, but instead will be taking on a much more familiar-looking foe. Dark Might appears to be a sinister doppelganger of the former Symbol of Peace and is out to put the heroes to shame, as the new English dub trailer reveals.

For those who may not have been following the updates on You’re Next, the film will not only pit One For All against this new villain Dark Might, but it also appears to feature some antagonists that have a mafia aesthetic. One key element that the fourth film will have is that many other My Hero Academy stories, is not a love story. New characters Giulio and Anna will apparently be in a relationship with series creator Kohei Horikoshi sharing the following about the pair in a recent interview: “Giulio and Anna’s relationship is part of the end goal that Deku and the others will eventually reach. The movie itself is interesting, but if you watch the movie and then go back to the actual story, you might be like ‘oh, so this is where the story is going.’ So keep an eye out for Giulio and Anna in the movie!”

You’re next In English

It will come as no surprise that many of the English voice actors who did this film My Hero Academy English Dub is making a comeback for the fourth film in the franchise. Since Dark Might himself is a dark reflection of All Might, Toshinori Yagi’s voice actor Chris Sabat will take on the role of the film’s “big bad.” As for the new villains, Giulio and Anna Scervino will be voiced by Mauricios Ortiz-Segura (Kaiju No. 8) and Kayli Millis (Jiu-jitsu Kaisen).

Are more My Hero Academy Movies on the go?

While You’re Next has yet to be confirmed as the series finale, it did release around the same time as the manga’s final chapter. By bringing a definitive conclusion to UA Academy’s story, many fans are wondering if the silver screen films could give fans a glimpse into the future of Class 1-A beyond the printed page. While nothing is set in stone, shonen fans are wondering if the fifth film will serve as the franchise’s finale, or if Kohei Horikoshi will continue the series in a surprising way via feature films that allow him to take a more back-burner approach to his world.

Thankfully, the television series is still going strong in its seventh season. While not billed as the franchise’s last hurrah on the small screen, the final season could be the shonen series’ penultimate season. The final battle is still ongoing and will certainly warrant another season before we say goodbye to Class 1-A on our television screens. While there are only a handful of episodes left in the final season, expect some major moments as Deku continues to battle Shigaraki and countless other battles that make season seven one of the anime’s biggest.
