Former senator threatens to sue woman who claimed he made ‘sex tapes’ with her

Elisha Abbo, a former senator who represented Adamawa North, has threatened to sue Wange David over allegations that he made sex tapes with her.

Wange said in a recent interview that she had made 32 sex tapes with the politician.

She accused him of leaking a certain clip that was circulating on the internet, because “he is the only one who has access to that video.”

But the former lawmaker has since denied the accusation.

In a letter to David, Abbo’s lawyer, Odiyowvi Osusu, gave him a 72-hour ultimatum to publicly apologize and retract his statements or face legal action.

“Our client has been made aware of a series of videos that have been published on social media and online media platforms with the intention and malicious intent to discredit his person,” Osusu said.

“Specifically, a video published on September 4, 2024 on ‘Naija Police U’ and an interview given to Trust TV News published on September 5, 2024 via their YouTube platform.

“In the said video and interview, you falsely and maliciously used defamatory words against our client, explicitly accusing him of sexual exploitation, publishing and distributing intimate videos, distributing revenge porn and blackmail.

“These videos have not only caused significant reputational damage to our client, but are also misleading to the public. The statements and claims in these videos are factually incorrect and have caused unnecessary harm to our client’s personal and professional reputation.

“Our client has instructed us to file a claim and we hereby formally request that you publish or broadcast on national television and in three national newspapers an unequivocal public correction and apology within 72 hours of receipt of this letter.

“The terms of this revocation must be approved by our company and we expect you to respond to us within 24 hours of receipt of this letter.

“You are also expected to disseminate the retraction and apology on the same platforms where your interviews were disseminated. Unless we receive a satisfactory response from you within the timelines stated above.”
